Butternut Squash Pasta Shells

Butternut squash is in season and it has such a great taste- not too sweet and when combined with other flavors (like ricotta cheese) can be very savory. For a lazy afternoon (this recipe does take some time) this makes a delicious lunch. The recipe calls to bake the squash for 45 minutes, but my tip is to check on it around 25-30 minutes to make sure nothing is getting burnt. Have some friends over and enjoy!

Two Thousand Nine*

2009 was a great year. I truly feel that as I get older, each year gets better. Travels, success, love, happiness- 09 had it all. I’m excited to see what the new year brings, happy New Years Eve!!

Dress Day-dreaming

New Year’s Eve is one of my favorite holidays and since it’s only two days away I can’t help but start planning what to wear. Still inspired by the film nine, I’m thinking of a fun, flirty dress (paired with a coat, tights, and boots to keep warm). And like champagne itself- lots of sparkles and gold/ silver metallic hues. Here are some of my dress picks for popping bottles and dancing all night long.

Be Italian

I just went to see the film/ musical Nine with a good friend of mine and it was fabulous! Loved how it took place in Italy (made me miss it even more) and the cast included some of my favorites- Penelope Cruz, Marion Cotillard, Kate Hudson, and icon Sophia Loren. I loved even more all the outfits, hair and make-up- in my opinion you can never go wrong with sparkles, a sexy cat-eye, and voluminous hair.

Happy Holidays!

So it’s officially Christmas and I’m excited to have started my blog before New Years (yay go me!) I’m actually enjoying the chilly Bay Area weather because I have a nice, warm heated house to be in- college life can exclude such luxuries. Happy holidays to everyone.
